Two people were killed and four critically injured in a crash on Interstate 15 north of Baker near the Nevada border, CHP officials said.
Dispatchers received numerous calls about the crash just after 2:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, on the northbound 15 north of Cima Road, CHP officials said in a news release.
Because the crash scene was on a remote stretch of highway, an engine from Baker took 26 minutes to get there. When they arrived they found two of the occupants — a man about 30 years old and a woman about 60 years old — were dead, the release said.
The four other occupants — a woman, about 30 years old, two girls, approximate ages of 12 and 9 and a boy, about 7 — were taken to hospitals and expected to survive, officials said.
The cause is under investigation.
