BIG BEAR LAKE: Boat accident severely injures man

A boat accident severely cut the legs of a 24-year-old man at Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains, sheriff’s officials say.

The accident was reported at 2:31 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at the boat ramp on the west end of the lake near Fawnskin.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene, and a medical helicopter crew flew him to a hospital.

Deputies from the Colorado River-based Boating Accident Investigation Team were summoned to determine the circumstances. No other details were immediately available.
