A 39-year-old Las Vegas-area woman died two days after being hospitalized for crash injuries suffered along a freeway in Cajon Pass, say San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.
Kristina Renee Adams suffered multiple injuries during the 9:08 p.m. wreck Friday, April 3, along the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 north of Highway 138. She died at 4:25 a.m. Sunday at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Adams was a passenger in a silver BMW 325i driven by 35-year-old Brian James Gregory of Henderson, Nev., said California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Alvarez.
The crash happened when the BMW was rear-ended by a Chevy Impala, whosedriver — 63-year-old Simi Valley resident Harold Simon — failed to realize that traffic was slowing ahead of him, Alvarez said.
Simon and his passenger were taken to a hospital for treatment of apparently minor injuries, Alvarez said. Both occupants of the BMW were badly hurt.
The impact shoved the BMW into two other vehicles, whose occupants escaped serious injury, said Alvarez.
The investigatiobn is continuing.
