COLTON: 2-vehicle crash blocks Mount Vernon Avenue

A traffic collision involving a white U-Haul pickup truck and a dark compact car Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, near Mt. Vernon Avenue and E Street in Colton closed a one-block stretch of Mt. Vernon Avenue and prompted a manhunt.

COLTON A traffic collision – possibly involving a police pursuit – closed part of a major street and prompted a manhunt in Colton.
The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, near Mt. Vernon Avenue and E Street.
A white U-Haul pickup truck with major front-end damage ended up in a field after apparently crashing through a masonry wall. A dark compact car with a crushed rear end came to rest against a nearby curb.
The incident closed a one-block stretch of Mt., Vernon Avenue just south of E Street.
At least one person was hospitalized. And police were searching the neighborhood for at least one other person, apparently involved in the crash.
At 10 p.m., the investigation was continuing and the traffic lanes remained closed.�
