HEMET: Alcohol or drugs suspected in fatal crash

Alcohol or drug use is suspected in an early-morning car accident near Hemet-Ryan Airport that killed the passenger, police say.
The wreck was reported about 6:15 a.m. Saturday, May 9, after a 2004 Ford overturned into a field southeast of Stetson Avenue and Warren Road, across the street from the southwest corner of the airfield.
The passenger was a 58-year-old Hemet woman who was flown to Riverside County Regional Hospital in Moreno Valley where she died, police said in a written statement.
The driver was a 34-year-old Hemet man who suffered an ankle injury, according to the statement.
