INDIO: One dead, three injured in Avenue 48 crash

One person died and three people suffered major injuries in a crash Friday, Sept. 25, in Indio.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department firefighters responded to the two-car crash at 11:57 p.m. on Avenue 48 east of Jackson Street, According to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire news release.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found one person dead, the news release said. Three other people were transported via ambulance to a local hospital.
The cars caught on fire once everyone was out, the news release said. Within minutes, firefighters were able to put the fire out.
