Man dies in Westminster car crash

WESTMINSTER – A man died in a traffic collision Saturday morning, the Westminster Police Department said.
At about 6 a.m., officers responded to a collision at Goldenwest Street and Hazard Avenue, a police news release stated, where a Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota Corolla were in the intersection with severe side and front-end damage.
The male driver of the Toyota was pinned in the vehicle and had suffered major injuries, the release stated. The female driver of the Tahoe had minor injuries. There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene and took both drivers to local hospitals. The male driver died from his injuries. The police are withholding his identity pending notification of his next of kin.
The Westminster Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the incident. Witnesses are asked to contact the police department at 714-898-3315.
