A woman who died Friday, Dec. 25, in a crash that occurred during a police chase in Moreno Valley has been identified as Sybil Richardson, 76, of Jurupa Valley, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office website.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley after the crash occurred about 5 p.m. at the intersection of Frederick Street and Alessandro Boulevard, California Highway Patrol authorities said Friday. Two other people in the car suffered moderate injuries in the crash, the CHP said.

Richardson died at the hospital around 5:45 p.m., the coroner’s office reported on its website Saturday, Dec. 26.

Police began pursuing a black Nissan Frontier in Beaumont earlier that day after the driver ran a red light, CHP Officer Travis Monks said. The pursuit continued onto the 60, where the driver exited at Frederick Street.

While heading south, the driver ran a red light at Alessandro Boulevard, and crashed into the passenger’s side of a grey Toyota Corolla, Monks said.

The intersection was immediately shut down and the driver of the pickup was transported to a hospital after officers put him in handcuffs.
