RIVERSIDE: Driver killed in 91 Freeway crash

The driver of a monster truck was killed Sunday, Oct. 4, after being ejected from their vehicle along the 91 Freeway near the Adams Street exit in Riverside.

Riverside Fire Department crews responded to the area after a witness called in the crash at 12:52 p.m.� According to the California Highway Patrol website, the driver attempted to pass another car and overcompensated.� The vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected.

When medical personnel arrived, the victim was bleeding on the ground and the truck was on fire.

The victim’s name has not been released.

A light pole was knocked over during the crash. Traffic in the area was backed up for more than an hour while investigators collected evidence and worked to clean up the scene.
