Riverside’s Arlanza Library was damaged and two motorists were hospitalized with what were described as minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon, Nov. 26.

A portion of the library’s wall was pushed in when a Chevrolet Venture SUV careened off Philbin Avenue. The library was closed for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

The crash happened when a Toyota Camry headed north on Picker Street collided with the SUV, which was traveling east on Philbin, Officer Edwin Romero said. Picker Street has a stop sign at Philbin, but Romero said the investigation had not yet determined which driver was at fault.

The Camry also veered off the road, striking a chain-link fence in front of a home where roofers were working.
