SALTON SEA: Single-car crash kills 1

A single-vehicle crash killed one person along a highway along the north shore of the Salton Sea, according to Riverside County Fire Department officials.

The wreck was reported at 7:06 p.m. Monday, July 27, near Highway 111 and Vander Veer Road, the turnoff to North Shore Beach and Yacht Club.

The first fire engine crew to arrive reported as many as six patients. One died the scene.
