TEMECULA: Pedestrian dies in crash, Rancho Vista Road closed (UPDATE)

A woman died Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, after getting hit by a car in Temecula.

The crash, which occured about 5:05 a.m., shut down traffic in both directions of Rancho Vista Road between Ynez Road and Mira Loma Drive, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy Armando Munoz said.

Investigators were on scene at 5:50 a.m. and will remain there until further notice, Munoz said. According to a traffic advisory issued about 6:15 a.m., the road will be closed for hours.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Munoz said. The driver is being cooperative with law enforcement.

At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors to the crash.
