YUCCA VALLEY: One dead in crash with school buses

San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters responded Friday, Sept. 25 to the scene of a four-car crash in Yucca Valley. One person was found dead.

One person died Friday, Sept. 25, in a four-car crash in Yucca Valley that involved two school buses carrying a total of 70 La Contenta Middle School students.
The crash occurred about 7 a.m. at the intersection of La Contenta Road and Yucca Trail, according to a San Bernardino County Fire Department news release. The circumstances surrounding what caused the accident were unclear in the news release. Two school buses and two passenger cars were involved.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters started evaulaing all of the occupants for injuries. Four students suffered minor injuries, two were transported to a hospital via ambulance and two others were released to their parents, the news release said.
The driver and sole occupant of one of the passenger vehicles, a pickup, died at the scene. The occupant of the other passenger vehicle wasn’t injured.
The students that were not injured were transported back to La Contenta Middle School.
